Independence National Historical Park complex is comprised of historic buildings, artifacts and landmarks of significance during the time of the American Revolution. Visitors can view the famous cracked Liberty Bell and tour Independence Hall, the building where the Declaration of Independence, the Articles of Confederation and the Constitution of the United States were drafted and adopted. The National Constitution Center explores the history and significance of the breakthrough document and the New Hall Military Museum preserves national military history. Located just west of the Delaware River in Center City, Philadelphia's downtown area, nearby attractions also governed by the park include Washington Square and the Edgar Allan Poe National Historic Site.
